Month 2 - February

February was a COMPLETE blur. Seriously. Where did it go? While this was not the most productive month in my quest, I am glad for the few things I accomplished, and look forward to starting March and finishing the last 4 months with gusto! So here's an update of where I am in the list (updates for February are in blue!):

1. Lose weight. I'm down 2 lbs. - definitely not where I want to be, but I'm in a better routine of working out, so I'll take it!
2. Publish some music.
3. Write a book. Did the basics to get going on this in February! Let the writing begin!
4. Write a business plan for a potential music studio.
5. Throw Kyle a great 30th birthday party. DONE!
6. Sell our house and move.
7. Finish scrapbooking 2006.
8. Start a once a month bunco group.
9. Take a class once a month and learn something new. January - wine class - DONE! February - fail. Flu and ice won!
10. Clean out the clothes I will never ever wear again, either because they don't fit, or no 30 year old should wear them. DONE!
11. Finish one book a month. January - DONE! Read 2 actually. February - DONE! Read "Things Christians Like."
12. Kyle. A lady doesn't kiss and tell, but of course this one is done. :)
13. Get rid of my Mary Kay inventory and go to an order only system.
14. Get my wedding album ordered.
15. Decide on a go to cocktail.
16. Try a new recipe every week. January - DONE! February - I tried a lot of new restaurant foods this month! I wasn't home really to cook, so this is the best I could do!

18. Blog about my adventures, print them out, and put it in a book for my kids to read one day. Blogging, done!
19. Take at least 1 picture every day. January - done! I missed a couple of days, but that's not too bad! February - again, flu and ice 2, Michelle 0. Got a few in though!
20. Catalogue the choir music at church. In progress!
21. Take a getaway trip with my hubby.
22. Miss a Sunday of church. (Haven't done this since October of 2009. Yikes!)
23. Sew a quilt. Just for me.
24. Learn to play the hammered dulcimer.
25. Watch the entire series of Sex and the City.
26. Have lunch with my mom once a month. January - DONE! We had a blast! February - Done! We went to the Dove's Nest in Waxahachie. Yum!

Where did Week 6 and 7 go??

Well, I'm embarrassed about the last two weeks. The flu knocked me out so bad, that it took two weeks after I was sick to recover. Needless to say, my last two weeks, I haven't achieved anything on my list really for the past two weeks, but I am back to normal and ready to attack my list with a vengeance once again!

Look for serious progress coming at you next week!

Weekly Recap - Week 5

This week began with 3 major events:

1. St. Peter had its first ever funeral.
2. A huge snow/ice storm hit the Metroplex.
3. I got the flu for the first time in 10 years.

The first was over fairly quickly, it was very nice, and it's good to know we are well equipped to do that sort of thing in our new facility. The second came crashing in on Monday night/Tuesday morning with a ridiculous amount of "thundersleet" (that's what they called it, I swear) and left us stuck in the house for 4 days. 4. days. Oh my gosh.

The last also kept me in the house for those 4 days, as it came crashing down on me like the thundersleet and didn't leave. In fact, I barely remember this week, I was so sick.

Here's what happened Week 5:

1. Lose weight. - 2 lbs down, thank you flu!

Yep, that's it. I had grand dreams of icy days stuck at home and the mountain of work that would get done! Nope. Day 5, I'm still spending most of the day in bed. My pictures are super boring from this week - they all involve the dog, so I'll spare you!

Weekly Recap - Week 4

Today I get to blog from bed, as I have finally caught whatever was going around. Ugh. That's the downside of being a piano teacher, and having kids breathe all over your tiny room with their germs. But anyway, at least I'm getting to watch the beautiful snow fall from my bed!

Week 4 was another rough one, however, I think some things are on the way to being resolved that should start making things better again. Also, I made a significant change in my daily patterns this week. I started showering at night. This may seem like a small change, but it was huge! Showering at night put me in the mood to prepare for the next day, doing dishes, putting out clothes, etc. Plus, I could now get ready in 30 minutes in the morning with the house already clean and my work bag packed. More sleep equals happier Michelle! It does mean sacrificing some things like having my hair just right, but I've already accepted it with the increase in productivity!

Ok, here's the run down from Week 4:

4. Throw Kyle a great 30th birthday party. Complete! We had a ghetto themed party at our house on Friday, and it was a blast!! And now my husband is ancient. :)

9. Take a once a month class. I'm totally counting our women's event at a wine tasting for church. I learned so many new things about wine! And I had a blast with my girls.

16. Try a new recipe every week. While I didn't actually make something new this week, I ordered new things at restaurants, which I normally don't do, and I tried new flavors of yogurt. Totally counting this!

26. Have lunch with my mom once a month - done! We went to a great little Italian place and did some shopping. Super fun!

And as always, this week in pictures!

January 23rd - Oops. Missed this one. Nothing good was going on anyway.

January 24th - Almost missed this one too! Saved it at the last minute:
January 25th - Wine night with the church women! Chelsie, Jenn, and the very cute owner!January 26th - Mom and I at lunch.
January 27th - a very passed out puppy
January 28th - Kyle's party! These were our costumes.January 29th - My hair post party - there are tons of tiny crimps in there from the braids! And there you go! On to February!
