The Poor

In today’s economy, we have learned to make do with a lot less.  Early in our marriage, my husband and I worked for the same company that went under.  We went from having great salaries, company paid cars, phones, insurance, and gas, to being unemployed and broke overnight.  Necessities certainly changed in our household.  Despite several further monetary setbacks, we still managed to pay our bills and put food on the table by God’s grace.  We were beyond blessed.

Have you already put up your tree?  Are there already presents under it, or at least a shopping list?  If so, you know you are beyond blessed, also.  Is there someone around you who you could be Jesus to and share your abundant gifts with this Christmas season?  Let’s share our love and our gifts.

“For there will never cease to be poor in the land.  Therefore I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’ ”  Deuteronomy 15:11
