Any time we have a good ol’ Texas thunderstorm, our seventy pound mutt Bryson disappears. We’ll search the entire house for him, usually to find him in a small crevice we didn’t think he could fit into: under the bed, back behind the clothes in our closet, or crouched behind the toilet. That dog does not like lightning! We know he has to be somewhere in the house, but we really struggle to find him.
In the midst of everything you are required to do during this season, do you feel you lose the reason why we celebrate in the first place? There is so much noise and distraction that it becomes difficult to focus on the upcoming birth of Jesus.
So how do we find Bryson when he’s hiding? We call to him, and we stop everything we’re doing and search the house. Thankfully, the Lord is not as difficult to find. Take a minute when things get busy, stop what you’re doing, and thank God for His wonderful gift of His Son.
“You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13

The other day I couldn't find one of ours and she was hiding from the storm in the bathroom. Considering she hides any time we even think of giving them a bath and refused to go in there it was totally random to find her in there. Guess she thought it was the safest place!
